I’m Back! & a Little Self Talk..

Hey peeps! I know it’s been forever since I last posted. Life just became quite busy once September hit. I’ve been working on college applications and I have been busy with school since that started a few weeks ago, along with cross country on top of that. I’m planning on getting back on track, and starting to plan future posts. But enough with the excuses and let’s get on with the purpose of this post…

Here’s a quote:

“The people you surround yourself with are excellent mirrors for who you are and how much, or how little, you love yourself.”

I read this phrase from a book I’m reading by Jen Sincero. (I will be doing a review on that very soon!!! I have like 10 pages left, and the book is awesome.) When I read this quote I had to sincerely pause and think about what it meant. I think I read the quote at least 5 times before I finally could process what it meant, and how I could interpret it into my life.

The people you hang around with are a “mirror” of who you are as a person. Meaning you most likely have the same type of attitude as that person, whether it’s good or bad. You still have the right to change your attitude, whether it’s from bad to good or good to bad. It’s all about you and how you want to spend your life. Surround yourself by people who lift you up. The people you hang out with should make you happy, and you should always be having fun with them. If something’s not going the way you want it to, and you’re just not happy with your life, change it. We all have the ability to change our lives, and make it how we want it. We, and even I, may not realize it yet, but I know deep down inside me we can all achieve our dreams, and the people around you should support you in everything.

I’ve recently noticed all the beautiful people surrounding me with their love. They pick me up, push me to be a better person, and simply love me for who I am. I am so thankful for that. I want to give back to them, and support them with all my might for them to go out into the world and achieve their dreams.

So find your people that surround you with their love, and make you a better person. Be grateful for them, and make sure you love them back.

In this world, we all mirror each other. I’m not saying that we try to be like each other; we are all our own selves. We push each other to keep going in life, and that’s what everyone needs.

So as you look in the mirror and the people around you, do you feel like you’re in the right spot? Are you loving yourself where you are right now? You deserve self-love, and no one can give it better than you.
